I was raised as a Catholic. From late teens til earlier this year I have only gone to Church once in a while. Something has changed this year. Hi, my parents have had problems over the past year and I found texts on my fathers phone proving he was having an affair (with more than one woman). My mother knows and they are still living together however planning on splitting this summer. However, I feel like adultery is a whole new level and its actually a 10 commandment. What should I do? Forgive my father? Be nice to him even though he doesn't deserve it?

Why can't we just be friends (not the world on a global level, not individuals on a day to day basis)? I have read the FAQ, and I understand you are an all powerful being that rules not through love but through power in the up most understanding way. Simply speaking, I used to pray to you as a child, talking to you as if you were my best friend...to this day I still see you as a friend that I can tell anything. Yet, why do I have to fear you, worship you, make you the center of my being, knowing you are in control? Why can't you just be my friend? By biblical and modern standards you have set forth not only through this site but through the bible, I completely understand what the normal answer to my question should be. That is why I'm asking you this simple question. I lost my spouse to cancer. She was my best friend. I miss her deeply. I am young and I am left to raise our family without her. Knowing I may live a long life without her is sheer agony. Everyday is pain. She believed in Jesus and I am sure her soul went to and belongs to God. I too believe. But I am lonely. I long to be reunited with her. I pray to Christ for comfort. I pray he will tell my wife I still love her. I miss talking to her. I miss holding her hand. I miss her loving embrace. It is true that when people marry, two become one, that their troubles can be cut in half, and their joys can be doubled. That was my experience. And though we had our share of problems, deep down I was always happy and grateful; I knew I was blessed. I've heard people call their spouse their better half. I can see why. But now I feel as if I have been cut in half. As if a part of my soul has been amputated. As if the most tender part of me is gone. My only comfort now is to believe that God will be kind and reunite us and that one day either when I die or by rapture we can be together again. That I can kiss her again as lovers do and be whole again. I search for conformation of my hopes but it is hard to find. I search the bible daily but either it isn't covered specifically or I just haven't found it. Spiritually my life is often an isolated one. Few people around me share my Christian faith. Of those that do none seem sure enough to reassure me about my hopes of being together with my spouse one day. At best they say "we'll all be together again one day as siblings in Christ" and leave it vague. I pray to Jesus everyday for conformation that what I hope for will be granted. Everyday I look to the sky and hope the rapture will be today. Whenever I hear about calamity I pray it will hasten the coming of Jesus. I don't seem to get an answer. I know God always answers. I think perhaps I'm just hurting too much to hear. For now I continue to raise our family and keep up our home. But home feels empty without her. It hurts. I pray that one day by God's mercy we will be together again and I may kiss her under the tree of life and finally be whole again. Will it be so?

I saw a lot of past lifes & could understand why I am who I am, why I am a cabin Attendant in airplanes, love to fly high, visit places & thought I was there before while it was the first time.
